On Wednesday, May 13, 2026, a conference titled "Addiction from a Family System Perspective" was held in the Conference Hall of the Faculty of Dentistry. The conference, given by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Birsen ŞAHAN, a faculty member of the Guidance and Psychological Counseling Department at BEUN Ereğli Faculty of Education, covered types of addiction, family and environmental factors, and what individuals can do in the face of addiction. The conference emphasized that not only personal factors but also the social environment and family structure play a decisive role in an individual's entry into an addiction cycle. Information on the fundamental causes of addiction and recovery from addiction was also provided. The event, attended by academic and administrative staff and students of the Faculty of Dentistry, concluded after a question-and-answer session. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Birsen ŞAHAN received a certificate of appreciation from the Dean of our Faculty, Prof. Dr. Baran Can SAĞLAM.
