The name of our institution, which was established as Karaelmas University in 2008, was changed to Bülent Ecevit University on April 11, 2012; With the Article 6 of Law No. 7141, which came into force after being published in the Official Gazette No. 30425 dated 18 May 2018, the phrases "Bülent Ecevit University" in the title and first paragraph of this article have been changed to "Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University".
Our Faculty, which started its education activities in 2009, started its education with 1 Professor (Dean) and 7 assistant professors, and as of 2023, there will be a total of 81 people, including 7 Professors, 3 Associate Professors, 9 Doctoral Lecturers and 62 Research Assistants, in Undergraduate, Specialist and Doctoral Education at the Faculty of Dentistry. It provides service. It also takes part in protecting and improving the oral and dental health of the society.

Our faculty started to accept its first students in the 2009-2010 academic year. The 2009-ÖSYS quota is 30 +1 and 30 students were registered in the 2009-2010 academic year;
As of the 2010-2011 academic year, the ÖSYS quota was 30+1 and 31 students were registered;
As of the 2011-2012 academic year, the ÖSYS quota was 35+1 and 36 students were registered;
As of the 2012-2013 academic year, the ÖSYS quota was 45+2 and 47 students were registered;
As of the 2013-2014 academic year, 62 students were enrolled;
As of the 2014-2015 academic year, 59 students were enrolled;
As of the 2015-2016 academic year, 75 students were enrolled;
As of the 2016-2017 academic year, 93 students were enrolled;
As of the 2017-2018 academic year, 94 students were enrolled;
As of the 2018-2019 academic year, 92 students were enrolled;
As of the 2019-2020 academic year, 102 students were registered;

We have a total of 573 students.
44 of these students are studying as foreign students.
The Faculty of Dentistry, which provides a five-year undergraduate education, offers an optional 1-year English Preparatory Program. In the first three years, basic medicine and dentistry courses and pre-clinical education are given. In the 4th and 5th grades, clinical practice and internship training is mainly given along with dentistry vocational courses.
As of 2011, our 5-year education program has been aligned with ECTS credits within the framework of the Bologna Agreement. Currently, our education program is in compliance with 2021 DUÇEP.
We have 4 lecture halls in the Dean's Office building where theoretical courses are given, and all four classrooms have fixed projectors. There are 2 pre-clinical laboratories with a capacity of 50 people, a plaster laboratory, a phantom laboratory with a capacity of 40 people, and clinics for each department.
Our faculty provides specialist training in all branches except Restorative Dental treatment. Additionally, the Departments of Endodontics and Prosthodontics have PhD training programs.
Regular activities are held every year in our faculty in the form of Social, Cultural, Scientific and post-vocational education.
With the Regulation published in the Official Gazette No. 28411 dated 14.09.2012 and entered into force, our students, specialist students and faculty members at the Dentistry Practice and Research Center provide health services to both our patients from our region and patients from all over the country.
Every year, on November 24, which is Dentists' Day, the "Traditional White Coat Wearing" ceremony is held to honor our students who will be going to the clinic for the first time.
